SWEET HEART DANCE for Valentine's Day

Women of the Moose will be sponsoring The Valentine Sweetheart Dance! It will be held on Feb. 11, 2011 from 8 pm until. We will be featuring the "RETRO - ROCKERS BAND" formally the REAL PEOPLE BAND. Admission will be $12 @ door or your can pre-buy tickets for $10! You can also reserve a table for $60 - this reservation is for 6 people only. See the Tom in the Social Quarters to make your reservations for the dance. Also see any WOTM members to purchase advance tickets. Please make plans on bring your Sweetheart out for some sweet times @ our dance! This will be a SMOKE FREE dance!

October 28th there will be a Bar-B-Que Dinner $7 per plate from 11:00 am thru 5:00pm. Advance tickets are on sale now please see any LOOM or WOTM to get your tickets. If 5 plates or more are purchased they will be deleivered for youif you would like. There will also be homemade desserts for each plate! So come on out & enjoy some good food!

We will be hosting the District Meeting @ the Washington Lodge! Social will be @ 6 pm, supper @ 7 pm, & meeting @ 8 pm. Our Lodge has kept the Attendance Tropy for the last 3 meetings! Great job members but we really need every member to turn out on September 13th! I know that the Greenville Lodge will be trying their best to take the Trophy! So let's keep it @ our hoome Lodge!

INCOMING GOVERNOR’S MESSAGE

I would like to start off by Thanking the members of the LOOM for giving me the opportunity to serve as Governor. I hope that I can help the Lodge grow & prosper with the help of all the member support! I know that it will take time but with everyone’s help I believe that we can do this!

We need more people to come out on Thursdays night and support our dinners & meetings! This is one of the ways that you can find out what is actually going on @ the Lodge!

I would like to give special thanks to Frankie, Pop, Joel, Mack & Tommy for helping at Bingo! We need more folks to come out and volunteer!

Please everyone read your Newsletter – there are many things that are going on that I can’t mention them all in my message!

Again, I would like to Thank everyone on voting me as your Governor this year & your encouragements that I can do this job! Thanks to everyone!

GOVERNOR’S OUT GOING MESSAGE . . .

At this time I would like to Thank the Junior Governor, Prelate, Treasurer, Junior Past Governor, Administrator, Trustees and all the Committee Chairmen – I THANK YOU! For another good year!

I would also like to Thank everyone who has helped Lodge & me this year! From grass being cut @ Lodge & sign on 264 Hwy, all the handy men who fixed the repairs and the Bingo crowd for all their time and generosity! Thanks to the members that make sure that the glass bottle & cans disappear from the Social Quarters!

The members of the LOOM & WOTM that is responsible for the Newsletter being produced & mailed (A JOB WELL DONE!)

A Special Thanks to our cake makers! These cakes are always a welcome to eating & winning!

At this time I would like wish the New Incoming Governor Thomas Manning, his Officers & Chairmen a very prosperous year! I also hope that all Lodge’s members support you in all endeavors for the incoming year!!

Again a SPECIAL THANKS! From me, your Governor for supporting me in another successful year! I COULD HAVE NOT DONE IT WITHOUT EVERYONES HELP!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas & Happy New Year!

By now everyone should be aware that signing up two new members into the Loyal Oder of Moose between now & April 2011 will have their dues paid by Moose International for the next year! We have four months left of the 2010-11 year and I encourage Moose members to increase membership!

The N.C. Moose Association Mid Year Conference starts February 16th-20th, 2011 at Greensboro, NC. If you plan to attend make sure that you make reservations & sign up to attend the Conference.

Saturday night Dances will continue in the New Year! Dances will have a NEW TWIST! We will be having Dinner & Dance to start in January! The Dance will still be held on he 3rd Saturday night of the month from 8-11:30 pm. Keep your eyes open for more upcoming new on the Dinner & Dance!

January 11th we will be hosting the District Meeting here at the Washington Lodge. Please member let have a good turn ouot so we can get the attendance trophy back! Come out & enjoy the Social hour & fellowship with old friends, Good Food and short meeting!

It’s that time of the year again for the Senior Citizen dinner we are making some changes it will be in the early spring this year! So please keep your eyes out for information in you newsletter on this upcoming event!

I want to thank everyone that came out & rang the bell for the Salvation Army! A SPECIAL Thanks to Kevin for ringing the bell for 3 hours in the cold rain. Thanks alot!

The Legion Meetings will be held on January 29th & February 26th at 6-7 pm. Please come out & let’s have a good meeting!

Our Lodge is open six days of the week & come out and sit a spell & enjoy the fellowship with old friends!

Don’t forget it getting that time of the year again for nomination of NEW OFFICERS!
So be thinking of who would do a great job & it might even be you!

I would like for everyone to PLEASE READ the NEWSLETTER – then you would know what’s going on @ the Lodge!

I would like to thank everyone that sold tickets, delivered dinners & came out and helped to make the Chicken Dinner a BIG success! The Dinner was a sell out & a second cooking of Chickens had to be done to fill all the presold tickets. I want to Thank all the Ladies of the WOTM that came out & brought desserts & helped serve dinners. A Special BIG THANKS to John Wade for volunteering, donating & heading up the dinner! John has just moved to Florida, hope we didn’t run you away and he will surely be missed by all!

Dances are being held on the 3rd Saturday night of the month- from 8-11:30. Moose Members we need your support.

We continue to meet every Thursday night @ 7:30 with Dinner being served @ 7 pm. I would love to see more of our members at our meetings!

I want encourage every Moose member to increase membership this year! Half the year has gone by, but we still have time to bring in new members! But most of all we need to try to keep all our members that we already have!

If anyone has any ideas that might help us here at the Lodge please come to me with them! I am open to any ideas!

I would like to take this time to Thanks everyone that was there at the passing of my Mother. It meant a lot to me to have my fellow brothers at my side.

I would like to take this time to thank the LOOM for believing in me & electing me to the Position of Governor.

I want to encourage every Moose Member to increase membership this year! It is September & almost half the year has slipped past us! But that OK, we still have time to bring in new members! We are trying & we have a lot of things planned for the rest of the year!

If anyone has any ideas that might help us here at the Lodge please come to me with them! I am open to any ideas!

GOVERNOR'S OUTGOING MESSAGE...

Well, Brothers and Ladies of the Moose, we have pulled it off again. By this, I mean, we have serviced through one more year. At this time I would like to thank all members, men and women, for their support this past year.

I would like to thank the Board of Officers and Committee Chairmen for all the effort that they gave to support the Lodge.

I especially would like to thank all the Ladies for their support and all they did the past year.

The ladies had a real hard struggle this past year but they overcame the burden and are still going strong. I am sure they will continue to do likewise.

As your outgoing Governor I would like to say thanks to the kitchen crew for a good job and for the support you gave to the Lodge and myself.

I also would like to say thank you to the ones who worked in the kitchen on Friday nights especially Sandy for all her voluntary work in the kitchen, setting up the Lodge Hall and cleaning up. Thank you, Sandy.

A special thanks goes out to the fund raising committee for a good job that they did. It would not be right to forget the Bingo Committee for a job well done. I think Royce, the chairman, and committee did a sweet job. Thank you. I would like to ask that each and every member support the new Governor, Virgil Toler.

May God bless each and every one of you and the Lodge.

Senior Regent's Message

On April 26th, we successfully installed your Chapter’s new officers and chairpersons. We did have one or two travelling and so we will do an installation for them at a later time. Several husbands attended as well as our Governor and we enjoyed refreshments and coffee following. Our hall was decorated with candles and flowers. Several gifts were presented. We enjoyed our time together and missed those not attending.

It is an honor for me to serve as your Senior Regent. While I always hoped to serve in this role, I thought it would be Nebraska. But thanks to looking for warmer winters, we came to Washington and I became a visitor and then transferred my membership here. As we begin our new year, our focus will be unity and continuity. The core of our Chapter is tough, dedicated women and without them we cannot exist. However, when we become weary, we need someone to step in and carry our message. Soon we will begin our organization of committees and each of you will be placed on a committee. We are not permitted to have co-chairpersons. Many of you will fall in to the category of our “core members” but we still need your thoughts to mentor and assist the chairperson for a successful committee activity and a successful year for all of us. From this sharing, hopefully one or two of the committee members will be nurtured and readied to go onward. We need everyone to continue to grow and prosper.

We need ideas regarding unity. Would you come to an occasional potluck just prior to our Tuesday meetings and then attend the meeting that lasts an hour? Would it help to bring the children and have someone to watch over them in the playroom? Would you like to be a secret sister? Would you like to carpool? Would you like to be a part of a calling tree and be reminded of our meetings? What activities would you like to see at our Family Center? Did you enjoy our Easter egg hunt or your visit with Santa? Do you have a business that needs to be shared with our members? These questions and more are being asked and we need your input. Call me - 402-489-6667 and when the questionnaire is mailed, please complete and return it.

I am lucky to have clear footprints to follow and to be surrounded by another group of tough, dedicated women. I look forward to this year, and getting to know many of you. Please let us know how we can serve you better.

OUTGOING SENIOR REGENT

Ladies it seems like we just got started with the year and now it’s over! I really feel like we have accomplished a lot this past year! We really had some great fundraising projects with everyone working hard to make them a success! I would like to thank you for your hard work!

Thank you to the Officers that were my right hand & sometimes my left too, because I didn’t know which end was up! Trying to pull work, family and WOTM duties together sometimes became a juggling act! But you all were always there lending a helping hand!

I know that sometimes we got pretty low with membership getting us down, but we managed to bring things back in the nick of time! I am so proud of all of you, who worked extra hard to bring in new members & you were rewarded by having your dues paid for next year!

To LOOM Thanks for all your help in making my year an enjoyable one! You guys helped in ways you just don’t know! I want to thank every member that I bugged for anything, even opening the Hall for the Ladies! I want an extra BIG THANKS to Frankie Rouse! He was there to help me even when I didn’t ask! He has helped set the Hall up for functions & would say just leave it I’ll get it later! That means a lot when you got so much going on!

I want to pledge my support to our incoming Senior Regent Shirley McDaniel & her incoming Officers! I hope that our New Officers have a very prosperous year & that every member will work hard to help make it so!

Now to my family I want to Thank my husband Bill, Step-daughter Billie & Granddaughter Clowey for putting up with me past year! I know sometimes I got a little stressed out! But you guys came to my rescue, either in baby sitting, cooking, cleaning house or helping at the Lodge! Thanks you for all your love and support I couldn’t have done it without you!

To all the Ladies, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this a Great Year for me & WOTM! I really feel that you ladies did an outstanding job working together to make our Chapter a Great One to be a part of!

One last person to Thank is Doris Dellinger & I saved her for last! She is the recorder of our Chapter; she is the heart & soul of keeping us together! Without her we couldn’t make it! Doris makes sure that she crosses all T’s & dots all the I’s to keep reports & records correct & getting them to Moose International on time!! This is a big job & without her I wouldn’t have known what to do! Thanks again!

Just Remember it takes everyone working together to make WOTM a success not just the Senior Regent!

The end of the year is coming fast! It seems like we just got started –boy time pasts by fast when you are having so much fun!! So let’s end the year with a blast!

Ladies we’ve have been pretty busy last few months! But the next months we will be just as busy! Cause it is nominating time again! That’s always takes a lot of time with the extra meetings!

Please be thinking of a Lady that might be considering an officer position but may just need a nudge! That may be all it takes to get someone to take that step! Believe me it not such a big step – I have been there many times before! I am willing to help anyone that is willing to take that step!

It is getting to be the time that all Ladies need to be thinking of which Committee chair that they would like to hold & what their fundraiser can be! Each Chairperson has an Advisor that can assist in any way & plenty of Ladies on there committee to help!

We have had plenty of nice fundraiser so far this year & more are coming! Just make sure that you check out the rest of the newsletter!

NEW FLASH! – Application fee of $20 is being waived by Moose International again this year from February – April 2011! This may help us increase membership again this like last year!

I hope all you Ladies had a wonderful Christmas & Happy New Year so far! I know each one of us is very thankful for all our blessings for the past year!

I would like to Thanks each one of you for all the hard work & support you did the past year for the WOTM & me! I know I don’t say Thank You enough! So when I don’t say it, know I really do Appreciate You & all you do!

Ladies we have been busy the past two months. Everyone has been working hard & planning for Santa for Kids & Group Homes. Things came together nicely & I think Kids had great time & client of the homes were really thrilled!

I would like to thank everyone that helped make all our fundraiser a big success this year! I know it hard this time of the year to keep up your support with the holidays being upon us!

We have several good fundraisers that will be happening in the near future! February 8th Soup & Sandwich dinner, March - Country Style Steak dinner, $100 Gas Card Raffle, Raffle Ghost Ship picture. So make sure that you come out & support these fundraiser!

Never Pay Dues Again! By bring in 2 new members each year your dues will be paid for, for the next year! So come on Ladies let try to do this! Our membership is way down so we need to try everything we can to bring in new member, but most of all is to keep the ones we have!

It’s also time for Nominations of New Officers for the up coming year, so be thinking of someone or even yourself! Also we will need new Chairperson to fill all 12 month Committees.

Ladies we have been busy the past two months. Everyone has been working hard to try to keep things going!

I would like to take this time to Congratulate Glenda Ingalls; she will be receiving her Red Stole November 2nd. She has been in Good Standing for 3 consecutive years in the Membership in the College of Regent; a collegian is now eligible to be invested with the Red Stole. It completes the Regalia of a Collegian. Glenda has been & I hope she will continue to be a hard working member of the WOTM. Congratulation Again!

We have had two new Members to join the WOTM in the past two months! They are Barbara Spouse & Carol Lane! Thanks again for joining us – we hope that you will be joining us at our meetings! Be looking forward to seeing you!

We are planning several things for the up coming months! First is a Bazaar & Bake Sale / Dec 7th - hope you Ladies will bake some of your goodies & if you don’t cook – just whip up some Crafts or items to sell! Second thing is Kids Christmas with Santa – Dec 19th we will be needing some items so that each kid get a little something from Santa!

I feel like that in the last two months we have accomplished a lot! The Chairpersons of our Committees have been working hard on their projects. They have come up with some new ideas!

I would like to take this time to Congratulate Doris Dellinger; she received her Start Recorder Degree in July at National Convention in Nashville! I know she worked hard her first year as recorder to make sure that she dotted every i & cross every T and made sure everything was reported on time! I am so proud that she accomplished this during her first year as reorder! We will be honoring Doris on September 21st with her Star Recorder Degree Ceremony and Ann Cherry is the Chairperson in charge. Ann will be letting us know what we can do to help!

I want to Thanks Ruth Waddell for Pro-Tim Sr. Regent for me during the Academy of Friendship Ceremony. This allowed me to enjoy being the honored into the Friendship Circle of Friends! I want recognized Hattie Rouse as my Presentation Aide & pinning me with my beautiful Blue Rose corsage. I was privilege & honored for Hattie being willing to pin my corsage! I want to Thank all the Ladies of the Moose for supporting me! At this time I would also like to Thank the Men that took the time out to attend the Friendship Ceremony. They are Frankie Rouse, Mack Williams, Brad Miller & John Gilreath, it meant so much to look out and see you guys there! Thanks again!

The attendance drawing winner for the quarter was Hattie Rouse. Every meeting you attend during the quarter your name goes into drawing for $25, but you have to be present to win; so it does pay off for attending meetings!

I would like to take this time to thank all the Ladies of the Moose for nominating, electing and believing in me to hold the position of Senior Regent.

I hope tht I can encourage the Ladies of the Moose to help increase our memberhship this year & every year! We need new members that are willing to step up and become apart of our family!

Please New Members do not stand in the back ground! Please step up and ask questions, if we are doing things that you do not understand! If I can't answer the questions myself, I will reserach and find the CORRECT answer for yu! We are here to learn and grow! I still learning everyday about WOTM & LOOM!

I am here to help in any way I can! If any of you have any comments or suggestions my ears are here tolisten! I am always interested in hearing new ideas!

With support of mu family & all the Ladies of the Moose stamding ith me on all that I do, I know that we can havea very successful year!
